Network

After reading Invisible Cities, where the idea of dynamic overlapping lines was enforced by the idea of networks in a passage called Trading cities, “And so Esmeralda’s inhabitants are spared the boredom of following the same streets every day. And that is not all: the network of routes is not arranged on one level, but follows instead an up-and down course of steps, landings, cambered bridges, hanging streets” (88) which describes the life of people in the city of Esmeralda as they move about the area and connect with each other to form a network, presumably for trading. The concept most highlighted in my research was the Networking element in the passage; how the landscape and built environment interacted with the life in the cities was key in informing the layout of the building and built landscape.
